We were approached by the owners of Chunky Chicken with a brief to redesign and rebrand their restaurant. The design package included space planning, interior design, build and branding.
Chunky chicken sells piri piri style chicken and we wanted the interior to reflect the style of the food being served in the restaurant.
A wall in the restaurant uses a large graphic image of red chillis, representing the heat of the piri piri sauce. Seating was custom-made for the project, again using the signature colour red, this time coupled with a hot pink.
We included a 'letterbox' style theatre kitchen, so you could see the chefs preparing the sumptous food. This was mirrored by a padded wall & ceiling, with a mettalic finish joining the two together. we dropped red pendent lighting to give this a 'clubby' feel for the mostly Asian dinners.
We provided our client with several 3D visualisations of the ‘chilli’ wall to allow them to choose from several options, which is a useful tool in making design decisions during the build and communicating ideas to clients 3 dimensionally.
Chunky chicken is a prime example of our logo design becoming an extension of the interior design, taking the colours used inside and incorporating them in the logo used on the exterior. This allows interior and exterior to work in harmony together.
Completed on time in 16 weeks and to budget.
